There is an entire series of mystery novels that I have read, and now re-read on my Nook that I forgot to mention last time.
The coffeehouse mysteries by Cleo Coyle. They are well-written, tightly plotted, funny, and thought-provoking. The characters are people you come to like pretty quickly. There are ten of these novels in all, starting with On What Grounds. They are all set in the fictitious Village Blend coffee house in New York. The protagonist is Clare Cosi, the manager of the shop, who also happens to be the ex-wife of the owner's son, who is also the coffee bean buyer for the Village Blend. There is still some chemistry between Clare and her ex, Matt. There's more chemistry between Clare and her new love interest, Mike Quinn. He just happens to be a detective with the NYPD. Add the owner, Blanche Dubois, also known as Madame, and you have all you need for some truly fun and interesting mystery novels. The books also feature many wonderful recipes and coffee making advice. It is hard for me to come up with a favorite, I like them all. The last two, Roast Mortem and Murder by Mocha are really good, and the recipes are outstanding!
I am looking forward to the next one already!
